THOMAS "TOM" MALORZO

 

Thomas "Tom" Malorzo, 75, of Rome, NY, passed away May 2, 2022 in Oviedo, FL. Tom, a long-time Dallas resident and member of the Knights of Columbus was born in Rome, NY to Vincent and Helene Malorzo on January 10, 1947. He married Catherine Healy on December 28, 1968. Tom obtained a degree in Chemistry and then went on to attend night school earning a degree in law. Tom moved to Dallas in 1980 working for Diamond Shamrock and NCH prior to entering private practice specializing as a patent attorney. Tom enjoyed coaching his boys soccer teams and serving as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader. Saturday's were spent shuttling both daughter's to their SMU Mustang swim meets. After the last of the kids went off to college Tom volunteered his free time to St. Monica's Catholic Church with the Choir, Helping-Hands, Stephen Ministry, and the Knights of Columbus.

Tom is preceded in death by his wife and life-long best friend Cathy, their son Craig T. Malorzo, DDS, and his parents Vincent and Helene Malorzo. Tom is survived by his daughter Amy Cummiskey and husband Joe, daughter-in-law Emily Malorzo Meek, daughter Merri Boyson, son T.J. Malorzo and wife Dr. Patricia Neuhoff-Malorzo, grandchildren Darrin and Nicholas Waller, Ava Malorzo, Moriah Malorzo, Morgan Boyles, Sebastian Thomas, Amber and Avery Malorzo, Leo Fontneau, and great-grandchildren Hailey, Hayden, and Anthony Boyles. The Malorzo family wishes to offer their sincere thanks to the St. Monica's community who was there for him after Cathy passed.

Funeral will be held at St. Monica's Catholic Church Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 11am with a reception in the St. Monica Family Center after Mass.
