COUNCIL #3955 - ABBOT PENNINGS COUNCIL REMEMBERS
PHILLIP PFEIFFER

On 4/22/2022, Phillip E. Pfeiffer passed peacefully just as he predicted. He enters the Kingdom of God to now watch over the family he loved so much. Phillip was born to George and Marian (Anthony) Pfeiffer in Kansas City, MO on August 7, 1937. He grew up a spirited child with a flair for mischief. Rumor has it that as a sibling prank he flattened the tires of his Brother Richard’s hot rod right before he was to pick up his prom date. He entered the Air Force after graduating from Westport High School in Kansas City in 1955 and served three of his four years of service as a medic at Tempelhof Airport in Berlin, Germany before being honorably discharged in 1959. At time of discharge, he was awarded a Good Conduct medal for his service. After meeting on a blind-date, Phil and his wife Geraldine were married on June 22, 1963. Phil was a life-long learner who appreciated education and going to school. He holds a Registered Nurse’s degree from Alexian Brothers Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, IL, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist certificate from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Anesthesia in Minneapolis, MN. Phil also received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from St. Norbert College and, if that were not enough, he also received a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. His vocations were many and in his career he worked as a Registered Nurse, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Hospital Administrator, and an entrepreneur and Restaurant Owner.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents George and Marian and his brother Richard (Sherrie).

He is survived by his wife and love of his life for nearly 59 years Geraldine; his children Julie (Dale) Sigwart, Christopher Pfeiffer, Paul (Ian) Pfeiffer, Mary Beth (Shawn) Cornelissen, and Matthew Pfeiffer; his grandchildren Josh, Ben, Olivia (children of Julie and Dale), JJ, Tommy, Max, Katie Rose (children of Paul and Ian), Austin, Paige, Elizabeth (children of Mary Beth and Shawn), and Jaxon (son of Matthew); and his one great-grandchild Collins (daughter of Austin and Ali Cornelissen).

He was a very intelligent and knowledgeable man who, with his self-described “gift of gab”, could talk to anyone about just about anything. When the topics turned serious, he could literally talk for hours (if you were unfortunate to let him) about his favorite topics: gold, the stock market, financial investments, cryptocurrency, the economy, domestic and international politics, and the national health care system. Never short on opinions, finding ways to playfully tease his wife and children, or engaging in laughter (including poking fun at himself), he believed in living life to the fullest. He was his own man with strong opinions who at times liked to buck the system, sometimes with favorable outcomes and sometimes not, but always without any regrets. He believed in keeping faith in God and Country, keeping close to family, and serving others. As someone who always enjoyed having the last word, the lessons he most wanted to pass along to his grandchildren and great-grandchild were to live life based on four core principles of “kindness, honesty, hard-work, and curiosity to explore the world around you and explore your dream vacation and vocation”.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Phillip at 11 AM on Friday, April 29, 2022 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, WI 54115.
