COUNCIL #3955 - ABBOT PENNINGS COUNCIL REMEMBERS
PATRICK JOHNSON

Patrick L. Johnson, 73, of Townsend, WI passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at his home on Bass Lake which he built with the help of family and friends. Patrick was born on the opening day of trout season, May 15, 1948, in Carter, WI. He was the son of Laurence and Avis (Mielke) Johnson, and he was the sixth of eight children. He was united in marriage on October 5, 1968, to Norma Adams at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wabeno, WI. Patrick served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970 in Germany where Norma joined him for 18 months. They traveled extensively, guided by the book, Europe on 5 Dollars a Day, by Arthur Frommer. After returning home, Patrick graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. He then started his 38-year career at Schneider.

Patrick was a commanding storyteller, with his inspiration coming from his shenanigans as a young boy growing up in Carter to his family and friends at hunting and fishing camp. Patrick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cutting wood. He was the camp cook for many years, serving his special cottage cheese gravy with red potatoes and hot dogs. He also enjoyed his time as a 3rd Degree member of the De Pere Knights of Columbus and the Wabeno Lions Club.

Patrick is survived by Norma (Adams) Johnson, his wife of 53 years, daughter Heather (Matthew) Cassidy, De Pere, son Trever Johnson, Milwaukee, grandchildren Kyrstin and Laura Cassidy, sisters Wynona Joan Connors, Wabeno, Lowell Janet (Dan) Stodola, Townsend, Anajalia Ann (Paul) Risner, Coleman, brother Michael (Darlene) Johnson, Seacrest, FL, and sister-in-law Dorothy Dot Johnson, Kona, HI.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents Laurence and Avis Johnson, brothers Capt. Ronald Johnson, Garfield (Marianne) Johnson, Kentwood (Dixie) Johnson, and brother-in-law Richard Connors.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Cat Flannery for her compassionate care, Pete Sackett for his lifelong friendship, and Father Philip, the Green Bay VA, and Unity for their tremendous support.

Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wabeno with Father Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Visitation will also be at St. Ambrose from 9:30 a.m. to time of service. A celebration of life will be held at the Townsend Town Hall following Mass.
