MSGT Richard H. Roelle, USAF (Ret.), 83, passed away peacefully August 27, 2014, after a long and fruitful life. Richard was born December 11, 1930, in Salem, Ohio, to the late Homer and Helen Roelle.
He spent 24 well-traveled years in the Air Force where he was stationed in Aviano, Italy, Canada, North Dakota, Ohio, Massachusetts and Clark AFB, Philippines. All the while completing 5 years of college studies.
After the Air Force he embarked on his next career in the insurance industry with Kemper Insurance and USAA. Upon finally retiring in 1993 he enjoyed gardening, golfing, watching football, and traveling. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life, Armanda (nee Innocente), his wife of 56 years. They had four children, CDR Victoria Kozub (Stanley), MSGT Edward Roelle, Helen Master (Carl), COL Paul Roelle, PhD (Cynthia). Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren, Matt (Gentry), Andrew, Gabby, Aidan and Gigi and "adopted" grandchild, Robert Pursell (Christy) and their daughter, Harper.
He was a jokester that loved to make people laugh but he was always a kind, honorable gentleman.
He will be missed by all. |
