HAROLD PIEPER

 

Harold Leo Pieper, 87, of Pana, formerly of Tucson, AZ, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at Pana Community Hospital.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Pana on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Don J. Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery in Decatur. McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana is in charge of arrangements.

He was born in Nokomis on Aug. 6, 1919, son of Leo and Theresa (O'Brien) Pieper. He graduated from Nokomis High School in 1935.

Mr. Pieper was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from A.E. Staley in Decatur in 1994. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.

He married Margaret Murray in 1996 in Tucson, and she survives.

Mr. Pieper also leaves sons, Grantley Pieper of Cypress, TX, and Lawrence (wife Charlene) Pieper of Tucson; daughters, Coral (husband Dale) Hefner of Tucson and Sherry (husband James) McPherson of New Port Richey, FL; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie (husband LaVerne) Henschen of Pana and Delores Pieper of Bellwood.
