Gary L. Selwitz, 81, of Duncansville, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Hugh and Zenith (Stouffer) Selwitz. He married Florence Simpson in 1959.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years; two daughters: Carrie Gill and husband Paul of Allison Park, Cindy Beisel in NC; a son, Craig and wife Delisa in VA; six grandchildren: Triena, Amanda, Ashley, Matthew, Allison, and Brandon; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Becky Lanzendorfer and a brother, Stephen.
Gary graduated from Hollidaysburg High school in 1958 and immediately served in the US Navy from 1958-1966. He retired from the Society of Cable Television Engineers.
Gary was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council 4245 and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church.
He enjoyed listening to music, reading, and using his iPad.
Friends will be received from 6-8pm Friday October 29, 2021 at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a Vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass with full Military Honors will be celebrated at 11am Saturday at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Msgr. Robert J. Saly, Celebrant. Committal at Alto Reste Park.
