TERRY D ECKERT

 

Terry David Eckert, 83, of Orefield, passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 23, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Priscilla Krufka (Tait), with whom he celebrated 38 years of marriage on June 25, 2021. Born in Palmerton, PA, he was the son of the late Harry and Catharine (Hafner) Eckert. A 1956 graduate of Palmerton High School, Terry received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Lehigh University where he played basketball for Coach Tony Packer and was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. Terry was the owner of Butz Lumber Company, Palmerton, for 20 years, where he was affectionately known as "The Chief." He served on numerous boards including Pencor Services, Citizens Bank and Trust of Palmerton, and the Philadelphia Reserve Supply Company. Terry especially enjoyed spending time with family on Marco Island, Florida. He also enjoyed fishing and playing pinochle with friends and will be missed by all.

In addition to his wife he is survived by children: Andrew Eckert and his wife Jean; Susan and her husband Andrew Shea; Sandra and her husband Daniel Roberts; Edward Krufka and his wife Lavinia; Theresa and her husband Richard Podguski; Michael Krufka and his wife Brenda; Andrew Krufka; Katherine Janis; and Margaret and her husband Michael Ciliberti; grandchildren: Seth Krufka, and his wife Missy; Jeremy Krufka and his wife Roxy; Blake Eckert and his fiancé Chelsea; Nick Shea and his wife Katy; Brody Shea; Michael Krufka and his fiancé Clara; Liz Ciliberti and her husband Matt Smith; Sarah Krufka; Drew Krufka; Becca Roberts; Harry Eckert; Lexi Krufka; Zach Krufka; Emmie Janis; Mia Ciliberti; Michael Ciliberti; DJ Roberts; AJ Janis; Dante Ciliberti; Nick Janis; and Julia Janis; great-grandsons: Jonas and Owen Krufka; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Terry was predeceased in death by his first wife Nancy (Butz); his sister Anne and her husband Gerald Wells; and granddaughter Stephanie Krufka.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at St Joseph the Worker R.C. Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield, PA, 18069. A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 30 from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 1629 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA 18102.Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Terry's memory to St. Joseph the Worker R.C. Church, at the above mentioned
