It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deacon Rich Willer.
Deacon Rich and Mary registered as parishioners of St. Thomas of Villanova in January 1971. On April 19, 1997, Rich was ordained as a Deacon and was assigned to us for liturgical ministry (Baptisms, Eucharistic services, funeral rites, etc.) and served in hospital ministry for the Archdiocese of Chicago. Over the years, he had been a Hospital Chaplain and ministered at Little Sisters of the Poor, Lambs Farm and many other organizations. He was also our Bereavement Director for many years, and he continued to serve our Parish Family in many ministries including our Mental Health Ministry. Due to his health, he officially retired last year.
