Albert Rychlik passed away peacefully at home on March 27, 2021, after a 10-year battle with cancer. He was born on August 9, 1946, in Sugar Land, Texas, the youngest of 12 children of Frank and Mary Dubec Rychlik.
He married the love of his life, Monica Vrana, on October 4, 1969, at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, Texas.
Albert was a skilled machinist and successful entrepreneur. He opened his own business, A.R. Machining, in 1977. After selling A.R. Machining, he started Artech Manufacturing in 1995 and enjoyed working until his health no longer allowed him.
Albert was a devout Catholic and attended SS. Cyril & Methodius Church in Granger and St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown. As a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, he volunteered for mowing, frying fish, and barbecuing for parish events. He and Monica served in the St. Vincent de Paul Society for 10 years volunteering weekly making housecalls to residents in need of emergency food and housing assistance. He also proudly served in the Texas Army National Guard for 13 years.
He was a loving husband and father and a loyal friend. His favorite activities were lake weekends, family vacations (especially road trips) and hunting. His greatest joy was spoiling his grandchildren, who were his sunshine.
He is survived by his wife, Monica, of 51 years, his three children, LeAnn Rychlik, Stacie Rychlik Serrato and husband Benjamin, Ryan Rychlik and wife Paula, grandchildren, Lucas, Maxwell, Emily, and Henry Rychlik, and Portia Serrato. He is also survived by sisters Mary Buri and Margie David, brothers Bennie Rychlik and Johnny Rychlik, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Alice Borski, brothers, Edward Rychlik, Lee Rychlik, Frank Rychlik, Louis Rychlik, Gilbert Rychlik, and Joe Rychlik.
Visitation will be held at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, Georgetown, Texas, on March 31, 2021, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with Rosary at 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be at St. Helen Catholic Church, Georgetown, Texas on March 31, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. Graveside service will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery, Granger, Texas.
