(February 4, 1939 - July 1, 2014)

Richard C. "Dick" Ames, 75, passed away Monday, July 1, 2014 in Pensacola, Florida. Dick was born February 4, 1939, in Watertown, NY, to the late Russell Ames and Doris Rupracht Ames. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Rosalie G. Ames and he will be interred in the Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, VA, to spend eternity beside his wife. He was also predeceased by a son, David Ferguson. Dick was a 1957 graduate of Watertown High School. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a parishioner of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Although Dick and Rosalie they were longtime residents of the Tidewater area, they also considered Watertown, NY home because of the many family ties to the area. His family was the center of his life. Additionally, he enjoyed reading, camping, canoeing, and airplanes. He loved to talk about most any subject and always had a kind word for everyone. He is survived by a sister, Patricia Ames; a brother, Floyd Ames; nine children, Terri Beldon, Christine Ames, Laura Cook, Kim LeClaire, Deborah Guardino, Mark Ferguson, Jeffery Ames, Tim Ames, and Richard Ames; 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
