CHARLES T ADOMSHICK

 

Charles T. Adomshick, 83, of Orefield, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Marie (Gregor) Adomshick to whom he was married 59 years. Born in Freeland, Luzerne Co., February 15, 1938, Charles was the son of the late George and Victoria (Nowak) Adomshick. He earned his undergraduate degree from Penn State University and a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University. Charles was employed as a Senior Engineer at the former Western Electric & Bell Labs in Allentown for 27 years, retiring in 1999. He was a life member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers. Since his formal retirement, Charles served as an Adjunct Professor at Lehigh University and Lafayette University. He was a member of the Penn State Lehigh Valley Alumni Association and never missed an opportunity to say he was "Penn State Proud." Charles was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield and a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 10921. Charles loved nature, in particular all varieties of birds. He also enjoyed golfing, watching college sports (especially Penn State football), traveling, solving Sudoku puzzles and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Marie; daughters, Debra J. Leaswitch (Ray) of Orefield, Denise A. Target (Steve) of North Wales; siblings, Jerry Adomshick (Barbara) of Arizona, Larry Adomshick (Kathy), Kathy Miller (Charles) both of Reading; grandchildren, Colin (Makenzie), Kevin, Nathan, Courtney, Blake and a great grandson soon to be born; predeceased by a brother, George Adomshick. Additionally, our entire family is truly grateful for the loving care and support from our dedicated home care aides, Cindy and Claudia over the last few months.

Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am. Monday, August 23, 2021 at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield. The Rev. Msgr. Victor F. Finelli, J.V., J.C.L.will be the celebrant. Family and friends may pay their respects from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Sunday in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Entombment will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
