Robert 'Bob' Dennis Antinori, 68, of Fredericksburg, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Hampton, Va., and the son of the late Francis Aloysius Antinori Sr. and Marion Smith Antinori. Bob graduated from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic High School in Newport News. He retired from Bell Atlantic with over 30 years of service. During his career, Bob lead disaster recovery efforts to restore telephone service after hurricanes in Florida and flash flooding in Southwest Virginia. Mr. Antinori had been an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he was a former board member. He was a past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 4034 1970-71. As a member of Spotsylvania Lions Club he was a former President and Chairman of the Sight Committee. Bob received the Lions Club Melvin Jones Award. He was also an Austin Healy enthusiast. Bob and his wife, Janie Newsome Antinori, recently celebrated their Golden Anniversary. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by two sons, R. Dennis Antinori Jr. and his wife, Ticia, of Durham, N.C., and Daniel Aloysius Antinori and Traci LeRose of Fredericksburg; four daughters, Denise Antinori of Baltimore, Md., Darlene Antinori Williams and her husband, Scott, of Sarasota, Fla., Alana Antinori-Jordan and her husband, Tim, of Fredericksburg and J. Anastasia Antinori-Martin and her husband, Adam, of Fredericksburg; five grandchildren, William Antinori Russell, Robert Antinori Russell, Bradley Robert Williams, Liam Antinori and Kayla Jordan; a brother, Francis Aloysius Antinori Jr. and his wife, Janie, of Salisbury, Md.; a brother-in-law, Charles Newsome and his wife, Anne, of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday June 23, at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday June 24, in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fredericksburg with Bob's cousin, Father Russell Smith, officiating.
