Richard Powell Marks Jr., 77, of Fredericksburg passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011 at his residence. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Johnson Marks, four months ago. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Lynn Marks of Fredericksburg; three sons, Richard Powell Marks III and wife Deborah of Maryland, James Ashton Marks and wife Marylou also of Maryland and Charles Chilton Marks and wife Jean of Appomattox, VA; a sister, Julia Ann Carpenter and husband Al of Southport, NC; brother, Joseph A. Marks and wife Sheran of Locust Grove; two sisters-in-laws, Ceane Marks of Arlington and Sandy Perry of Clearwater, FL; as well as four grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, July 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26 at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in his name to the Boy Scouts of America, Fredericksburg Troop #165. |
