RONALD J CULLEN

 

Ronald Joseph Cullen, 88, of Fredericksburg died on Monday, July 18, 2016. Mr. Cullen was known to all for his kind manner and his “million dollar” smile.

He was born in Paterson, N.J., on Nov. 21, 1927. Mr. Cullen moved with his wife and two children to Virginia in 1965. He worked for more than 25 years for the Unisys Corporation.

Mr. Cullen was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fredericksburg for 35 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and served in many roles in this organization throughout his life. Most recently he served as historian for Stafford Post 290. He was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Cullen and his wife belonged to the Stafford County seniors group with whom they enjoyed many wonderful trips throughout the U.S.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ann; his two daughters, Kathy Marzec (Phil) of Fredericksburg and Janet McDermott (Frank) of Alexandria; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; as well as all of the many people whose lives he touched.

A rosary service will begin at 6 p.m. with visitation until 8 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Covenant Funeral Service, 4801 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 25, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 1009 Stafford Ave., Fredericksburg, 22401. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Quantico National Cemetery.
