William G. Davis, a lifelong resident of Eddystone, passed on June 10, 2021 after a prolonged battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Bill was a graduate of St James High School, class of 1972. He was a parishioner at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, and a lifelong supporter of the St. James Alumni Association. He also had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #3182 in Claymont, De.
Bill was a partner for Hammond Vintage Services for the past 3 years as a Hammond Organ Specialist where he was truly a master of his trade. Prior, he worked for both the Hammond Organ Center and Wilmington Piano. There is not a church organ in the tri state area he did not know. His expertise allowed him the opportunity to work on many of the well-known musicians keyboards of his time...the likes of Van Morrison, Ringo Star and others.
Bill's passion for music carried over to his own talent on the keyboard. He got to do what he loved by performing with over a dozen bands in his life time. As keyboardist for Lee Andrews & the Hearts, he toured throughout the U.S. and Canada. Perhaps more widely known for local favorites: Eastern Standard Band, Sweet Cream, Fire and Ice and most recently, Four Play. His last gig was right before we shut down for the Pandemic. He also had a lifelong interest in model trains with many sets collected over the years.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, the late William H. And Ellen E Driscoll Davis and his guardians, Tom and Grace Dougherty. He is survived by his Godmother, Anne Driscoll Hunter and numerous cousins. |
