Paul H. Thompson, 83, of Bristol and a former longtime Southington resident, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021, at HOCC at New Britain General surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Solange (Blais) Thompson for 59 years. Paul was born on April 30, 1938 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada the son of the late Herbert and Lena (Allison) Thompson. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Baskin-Robbins for many years. Paul was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus Council 15, a Past Grand Knight, a Past Faithful Navigator of Assembly 122, and a former District Deputy. He was a member of the Southington Elks Club, Bell City Rifle Club, Teamsters Local 677, and a former usher at St. Thomas Church. He loved visiting his native Canada, giving his family and friends nicknames, and nightly card games with his wife. In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Michel Thompson and wife Robin of Cheshire, a daughter, Nicole Nichols and husband Eugene of Plantsville, 6 grandchildren: Nicole (Dana) Silva, Amanda (William) Haas, Luke, Madelyn, Samuel and Jane Nichols; 5 great-grandchildren Jayden, William, Timothy, Dylan and Runa. He also leaves several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Herbert, and sister, Pearl. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol Street, Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
