MICHAEL E. WALSH

Michael E. Walsh, 83 of Glen Mills, Pa., formerly of Havertown, Pa. passed away peacefully on Friday, May 28, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Eileen (nee Loftus) Walsh for 56 years and the loving father of Eamonn M. Walsh, Mary Ellen (Robert) Szybist, and Michael A. Walsh. Known as ‘Gran’, Michael was the devoted grandfather of Emalee, Rylee, and Blase Walsh, Finn, and Liam Szybist. He was also the beloved brother of Mary Ellen Derrico, Anne Muller, Charles and Thomas Walsh, and the late Francis, and James Walsh.

Michael was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on March 28, 1938 to Thomas F. and Anne (nee Devaney) Walsh. He attended West Catholic Boys High School, served in the Ordinance Corp in the United States Army from 1961-1965 and was a member of the Steamfitters Union #420 for 45 years. Michael was the past president of the Cavan Bowling League, a longtime member of the Irish of Havertown and a member of the Knights of Columbus belonging to Christopher Council and Bishop Mardaga Forth Degree Assembly in Delaware. A skilled storyteller, humorist and singer, Michael was an avid reader of history, and an active member of the Fox Hill Farms Artist Association.
