Bruce Carrow, 89, of Canton, GA went to his heavenly home on Friday, September 18, surrounded by his loving wife Ginger of 67 years, and his children. Born in Caledonia, MN, Bruce was raised in Marshall, MN, the son of Dr. Meddie and Estelle Carrow. He met the love of his life, Virginia (Ginger) Young as a child. They began dating in High School and later married. He reached the rank of Staff Sargent with the United States Air Force during the Korean War serving in the 6147th Tactical Control Group. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and worked for Sears Roebuck as a Regional Merchandise Manager for 35 years, until his retirement.
To say that Bruce was best known for being a dedicated husband, father, and friend is an understatement. He loved his family dearly and never hesitated to express how proud he was of his family. Considered a quiet individual, he was firm in his belief of showing kindness, a strong work ethic, and commitment to a cause. He always supported his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids by attending their sporting events, and programs. An avid tennis player he competed for both ALTA and USTA tennis associations, at times competing with his son Craig as his partner. He enjoyed vacations to the Beach, Mountains, and boating on local lakes with his family.
Dedicated to his faith as a practicing Catholic, Bruce actively participated from the start of a missionary church through the growth of St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell, GA. Bruce was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed volunteering as an Usher and served in various other roles at the Church. |
