Joseph J. Pawlowicz, age 79, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Wilmington, Joe was the son of the late Julian and Anna (Kachmar) Pawlowicz. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School and served his country proudly in the US Coast Guard during the Korean War. For over 45 years, he worked as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW #313 until his retirement. Upon retirement, he enjoyed part-time work at Milburn Orchards. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 55 years, Joan (Hagan) Pawlowicz; two daughters, Annmarie Pawlowicz (Barry Zias) and Kara P. (Leith) Munson, both of Wilmington; his grandson, Dalton Joseph; his sisters, Eleanor Jablonski of Parkwood, Marie McKelvey of Cape May, NJ, and Carol McElhannon of Athens, GA; brothers, Edward Pawlowicz of New Castle, and Charles E. Murphy of Bear, DE and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Lillian Baker of Aspen, CO. |
