Paul O. Knight, age 77, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012. Born in Jackson, MI, he graduated from Jackson High School and Goldey Beacom. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1957. He later retired from Provident Mutual. Paul was married to Catherine M. Knight for 56 years. Together they have been longtime members of St. Helena's Church. He enjoyed many hobbies, sharing hours teaching his two sons about mineralogy, astronomy and woodworking. As a craftsman, he specialized in Shaker furniture, building everything from cradles to chairs. In addition to his other hobbies, Paul was an avid amateur radio operator. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; his sons Paul Knight (Roberta) of Middletown and David Knight (Marie) of New Castle; granddaughters, J.J. Knight of North Carolina and Katie Knight of Middletown; grandsons, Tony and Brian Knight of New Castle; and several nieces, nephews and other family he held dear. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Inez and Melvin Knight of Jackson, MI. Paul's kindness, strength and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. |
