Stanley G. Ennis , Age 86 of Owatonna died July 18th, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Friday, July 25th, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owatonna, MN. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 24th, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home in Owatonna, MN. and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will immediately follow the service at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
Stan was born on July 15th, 1928 in Faribault, MN. He was the son of Glen and Lucille (Williams) Ennis. Stan Graduated from Faribault High School in 1946. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he was stationed in Japan. He married Lois Kennedy on August 9th, 1949 in Faribault, MN. Stan worked a majority of his life as an Electrician including many years with Smith Owatonna Electric. He was an active member of the American Legion, the V.F.W, the Knights of Columbus and the Owatonna Eagles. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, bowling, playing cards and watching the Minnesota Twins.
Stan is survived by his two daughters, Jules Kennedy of Walsenburg, CO; Sarah (Steve) Zak of Hope, MN; 6 Grandchildren, Jacob (Katie) Rietveld of Apple Valley, MN; Jessyca (Omar) Rietveld-Chavez of Longmont, CO; Amanda Ennis of Owatonna, MN; Candace Zak of Arrow Rock, MO; Patrick Zak of Blooming Prairie, MN; Jacob Zak of Phoenix City, AL; 2 Great Grandchildren; Benicio Chavez and Cheston St. John; 4 Brothers; Wilson Ennis; Robert Ennis; Gerald Ennis; Albert Ennis; 3 Sisters; Lorraine Hinds; Mavis Chambers; Daryth Seabold; Many Nieces and Nephews. Stan was preceded in death by his wife Lois, his parents, 2 brothers Earl and Leroy, a sister Gertrude and 2 nephews Alan and Jerry.
