MEL A. HARTMAN

Mel Hartman was born in Chicago, IL and was the son of the late Catherine and Hugo Hartman. Mel attended the University of Delaware and was a long-time employee of Delmarva Power prior to retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hiking and exploring nature in the Brandywine Creek State Park, playing guitar and mandolin, listening to music, cooking for his family, smoking cigars, gardening and weekend getaways to the Delaware beaches. Mel was a devoted parent and an active member of St. Helena's Parish. His kindness, honesty, laughter and good nature were an inspiration to his family and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Mel is survived by his sons, Derek and Jason, of Wilmington; 3 brothers, Michael, Brian and Clyde and his former wife, Janet Palese.
