John F. Panfile, 57, of Linwood, PA, left this world peacefully, but far too soon on March 16, 2013. He loved music and was a phenomenal cook who showed boundless hospitality. Compassionate, and with a wonderful sense of humor, he was truly a great friend. And "not for nothing", once you met him, you could never forget him. John attended St. James High School and was a Boothwyn businessman for over 35 years as owner of John Francis Hair Design. As a hair color specialist and instructor for the Matrix Co., he taught numerous lectures across the U.S. He was a member of Immaculate Conception parish, and the Knights of Columbus, Christopher Council and served as Grand Knight. During his tenure at the Knights of Columbus he volunteered at DuPont Children's Hospital, organized events for the elderly and disabled, took special care of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, and initiated the very successful annual Italian Night dinners. Son of the late Frank Panfile. Survivors: He leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years, Christine (Kurek), and beloved son, Alex, 28, of Linwood. John is also survived by his mother, Helen (Rapposelli) Panfile of Boothwyn, his sister, Linda Kelley (Ray) of Harrisburg, PA, brothers Michael (Judy) of Chester, PA, Tim (Darin) of Wilmington, DE, Joseph of Rehoboth Beach, DE, and Robert (Dee) of Trenton, NJ. He was a wonderful uncle to more than twenty nieces and nephews. |
