Donald Puharic, age 82, passed peacefully at his son's home surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 13, 2013.
Don was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was a graduate of Duquesne University and served in the Army as a 1st Lieutenant. He met and married the love of his life Joanne in 1960 and together with their strong faith raised their children in Claymont.
He was an active member of Holy Rosary R. C. Church serving as an usher and a sponsor with the RCIA program. His life was devoted to his family and his faith. He enjoyed many years of coaching little league and attending sporting events of his children and his grandchildren.
Don was the son of the late Joseph and Ann Puharic. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joanne (Shanahan), his children, Colleen Donithan, D.J. (Brenda), Terri Esposito (John), Erin Giordano (Tom), 10 grandchildren and 2 brothers. |
