Robert Dale Murray, 85 years old, died in his sleep Sunday morning, August 30, 2020, at North Fulton Hospital, Roswell, Georgia. He was born January 8, 1935 to Robert William Murray and Catherine Frances Klimcak Murray in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Dale was a graduate of the Old Cathedral Elementary School, Immaculata High School, Leavenworth, Kansas. He attended Clark University, Worcester, Massachusetts. While in high school he participated in all sports and was elected president of his class four consecutive years. Dale was an accomplished basketball and football player. After graduation he coached several boys’ basketball teams in the parochial system. Dale served in the Kansas National Guard achieving the rank of E5 Sergeant.
Dale was employed by Norton Company, an industrial abrasives manufacturer working in Montana, Wyoming, Kansas, Missouri, New York, Massachusetts, Central America and all the Southeastern states. After 34 years, he retired as District Sales Manager and earned “District Sales Manager of the Year†twice. Dale was also a member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus, and Brookfield Country Club. As a parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas, Dale taught CCD classes and lectored at Sunday masses. |
