COUNCIL #10930 - FATHER EMIL GERLICH OF FORT WORTH REMEMBERS
ERROL F. JOLLY

Errol Jolly was a wonderful man. He was born on April 10, 1943 and passed away on November 17, 2019. His mother named him after the actor, Errol Flynn and anyone who knows him knows that he lived up to his name, "Jolly". He was a fun loving man and a joker. He constantly teased people and never met a stranger. He made friends wherever he went and talked to everyone even the mailman. He was a faith-filled man illustrated by his many years in the Knights of Columbus. He met his wife, Coleen, in a Catholic Church in Louisiana. He developed a very special relationship with his mother in law, Lorraine. Following his relocation from New Orleans to California, he and his wife found North Texas and created a home for Lorraine, who lost everything during the Katrina hurricane. Although small, his family was very close. He eventually opened his home to any one in his family who needed a temporary place to stay while relocating due to the hurricane. Eventually his family came to live in the same neighborhood around the corner from the St. Thomas the Apostle new church. He was married 57 years to Colleen and had three daughters, losing one to sickness. He was described as an "old school" father. He was strict but fair and there were no chores unfit for the girls such as mowing or changing the channel on the TV. Being adventurous, he loved to travel and camp. He talked quite often about Hawaii but a Belize cruise was what he was looking forward to as he & Coleen had a trip scheduled for January. On this cruise he could fulfill his love of eating (as illustrated by his "MUDBUG" email address). His wife teased him that he needed to work more and eat less. We can all be assured that he now is at peace enjoying all of God's riches in heaven.
