RONALD RICHARD ESCHWEILER

 

Ronald Richard “Ron” Eschweiler, age 75, of Hockessin, DE, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019.

Born in Weehawken, NJ on February 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Earl Edward and Martha (Morgan) Eschweiler. In 1966, Ron earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Newark College of Engineering (Newark, NJ) where he participated in the ROTC program. Following graduation, he proudly served his country as an officer in the U.S. Air Force for 12 years. He made his 35-year career as an engineer with the Boeing Company’s Helicopter Division in Ridley, PA and was on the design and engineering team for the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft.

Ron loved animals, especially dachshunds. He could often be found reading books about history. Ron was an avid philatelist and was a member of the Brandywine Valley Stamp Club. He enjoyed participating in many activities as a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Steamship Historical Society of America, and the Delaware Saengerbund.

Ron is survived by his loving companion, Lee Galvin and her children, Tim, Jeanne, Pamela and Mike; sister, Gail Pellitteri; brother, Earl Eschweiler; cousin, Florence Montagno; and several other cousins.
