M. Paul Andrews Jr., 93, Altoona, passed away Friday at his residence.

Paul was born in Johnstown, son of the late Michael Paul Andrews Sr. and Anna (Semaniak). On Nov. 29, 1951, he married Sara (Haller) who preceded him in death on March 11, 1987. On March 24, 1990, he married Dorothy (Gonter) Ciccarella.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; a son, David P. Andrews, and wife, Jan, of Hollidaysburg; two grandchildren: Ashley and Scott; and Dorothy’s children: Vicki Albright, Lisa Seltzer, Sharyn Masi and Randy Ciccarella.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Andrews.

Paul was a graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and Altoona School of Commerce. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and retired as controller for Gwin, Dobson and Foreman Inc.

Paul was a very active member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where he was head usher. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Altoona, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow, and a member of Knights of Columbus.

Paul enjoyed playing golf, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers and was a Penn State football fan. In his younger years, he managed local baseball teams and was very active in many youth sports organizations.

Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2019, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Father Brian Saylor, celebrant. Committal will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
