James T. Passanisi, 71, a resident of the Town of Sandown for the past forty-five years, and formerly of Lowell and Waltham, MA, died April 4, 2019 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry.

Born in Boston, son of Carmela (Tringali) Passanisi and the late Thomas Passanisi, he was raised and educated in Somerville and Lexington, Massachusetts and graduated from Lexington High School with the Class of 1965. He attended The University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Lowell Technical Institute.

Mr. Passanisi was employed for forty-two years as an engineer for Raytheon until his retirement in 2015. He had also served as a part-time Sandown Police Officer and member of the Sandown Volunteer Fire Department.

A member of Saint Anne’s Parish of Hampstead and a Third Degree member of the St. Maximillian Kolb Council of the Knights of Columbus, Mr. Passanisi also served as an instructor for the junior rifle and archery leagues at the Chester Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed recreational shooting, fly fishing, lemoncello and wine making, camping and spending time with his grandson.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Patricia (Charles) Passanisi, a son and daughter-in-law, David T. Passanisi and Jocelyn McCann-Passanisi of Honolulu, Hawaii, a daughter and son-in-law, Amy A. Blazszka and Donald Blaszka, Jr., of Hampstead, his mother Carmela (Tringali) Passanisi of Chester, a brother and sister-in-law, Richard T. and Cheryl Passanisi of Agawam, MA, a sister-in-law Joanne Passanisi of Fremont, three grandchildren, Aana P. Blaszka, Andrew D. Blaszka and Thomas J. Blaszka, of Hampstead, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Steven T. Passanisi.
