Col. Sidney Brandler, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2018 in San Antonio. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, born to Isaac and Dina (Fenig) Brandler, Sidney enlisted in the Air Force in 1959 and proceeded to serve the country he loved for 40 years. Sid loved life and lived it fully – much loved by family and friends he will be missed and remembered with smiles and gratitude. Sidney is survived by loving wife of 54 years, Audrey; son, David S. Brandler; daughter, Alison M. Levine (Mike); grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua and Rachel Levine; sister, Marcia (Shelly) Wishansky; ornery dog, Sandie and was pre-deceased by infant son, Brian; sister, Norma Frey. Rosary will be held Sunday, December 30, at 7PM at Porter Loring Mortuary North. Celebration of life will be Monday, December 31, at 10:00 AM at Shrine of St. Padre Pio with reception following, then leaving in procession to Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please honor Sid with memorial contributions to the Shrine of St. Padre Pio Building Fund. |
