NORBERT KEYSER

 

Norbert “Bud” Keyser, 87, of De Pere, died Saturday November 24, 2018 at a local hospital. The
son of the late Theodore and Ann (Vanden Broeck) Keyser was born February 21, 1931 in
Sturgeon Bay. He married Gloria Beernsten on January 28, 1961 at St. Patrick Church in Green
Bay. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Keyser owned and operated Keyser Plumbing and Heating prior to retirement in 1993. He
remained active in the business with his sons for many years. Norb was a devout Catholic, and
was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Over the years, he was an active member of St. Francis
Church, Old St. Joes Church, and most recently, St. Agnes Catholic Church. He loved to tinker and
was an inventor. Norb enjoyed the outdoors, going up north and deer hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria, their children, Dave (Laurie) Keyser, Marsha (Steve) Gierczak,
Patti (Earl) Van Den Heuvel, Ann Keyser, as well as his former daughter-in-law, Sheila Schmidt,
eight grandchildren, Jesse and Zachary Keyser, Brandon and Joel Keyser, Danny Meisel,
Elizabeth Doro, Francis and Katherine Van Den Heuvel, his siblings, Genevieve Van Straten, Betty
Jane Van De Ven, June Vercauteren and Elaine Baeten. He was preceded in death by his son,
Kevin, daughter, Rosemary, and a sister, Dorothy Van De Ven.
Family and friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, from 4:00 to
8:00 pm on Tuesday November 27, 2018. Knights of Columbus Prayer Service will be held at
6:30 pm. Parish prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue after 9:30 am
Wednesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth Street Green Bay, until time of service.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Wednesday at the church with Father
Patrick Beno, officiating. Burial to follow at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
