GREGG JOSEPH HOUCK, JR.

 

Gregg J. Houck, Jr, 80, of Aurora, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on November 28, 2018 at Presence Mercy Medical Center. He was born on August 26, 1938 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of the late Leah Eileen (Wright) and Gregg J. Houck, Sr. Gregg was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Gregg was proud of being a catechist at Holy Angels for many years. He retired from BRK Electronics and then worked for the Rockford Diocese at Holy Angels Church. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Houck of Aurora; his children, Christine (Steven) Hausner of St. Germain, WI, Gregg J. (Antonio T. Sanchez) Houck III of Chicago, IL, Mary Lynn Blowers of Tampa, FL, David (fiance Bridget Brewick) Houck of Sugar Grove, IL and Beth Houck of Aurora, IL; his grandchildren, Matthew Hausner, Adam (Brooke) Hausner, Ryan Butler, Aaron Butler, Emily (fiance Austin Naumann) Houck-Barr, Catherine Houck and Evan Houck; his seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Gregg was preceded in death by his brother, Dean W. Houck; his sister, Donna Rae Wood and a niece, Marcy Jacomet. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 9 A.M. until 11 A.M. with a rosary service at 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter's Church, 925 Sard Ave., Aurora, IL 60506. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 A.M. at St. Peter's Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Peter's Church.
