Richard was born in Aurora, Illinois on January 8, 1932 where he grew up to become a prize-winning Angus cattle rancher. After Richard and his wife Lorraine moved to Arizona in 1974, they became avid llama ranchers. They loved to show and breed llamas, and especially enjoyed teaching children and adults about llamas, bringing their llamas to county and state fairs, schools, 4H Clubs, hospices' and assisted-living centers. A llama event at his assisted living community resulted in the internationally-notorious "Llama Drama" that held the nation's attention for two days in 2015. Richard proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, where he became a Fourth Degree Knight. Richard is also known as "Sir Knight Richard Falkenberg." Richard was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine (Kinzig) Falkenberg, his Parents Harry and Alma (Saum) Falkenberg, and his brother Daniel Falkenberg. He is survived by nieces, nephews & cousins, and many, many friends he has made during his life.
