Robert S. Palmer, age 83, of Hoffman Estates. Beloved husband of Audrey Palmer. Loving father of Deborah (Larry) Koontz Mark (Nadine) Palmer, Michael (Kathy) Palmer, Lori Palmer and Nancy (Robert Hoagland) Palmer. Loving grandfather of 8 and great grandfather of 8. Dear brother of Steve (Linda) Palmer and the late Roy Palmer. Beloved uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bob Palmer was born October 24, 1935 in Chicago. He married Audrey Allen on August 3, 1956. They moved to Hoffman Estates in 1965 with their young kids. Bob worked multiple and many odd jobs when he was young to make ends meet. He worked as a taxi driver, the Flying Tigers Airline, an actual typesetter followed by computer type and then sales.
Bob was an active member of St. Huberts Catholic Church. He was involved with the Knights of Columbus, men’s retreats, golf league, a frequent Lector and reader at masses and rarely missed a Sunday. The Palmer’s were part of the church’s beginnings, meeting in the school gymnasium prior to the church being built in 1967.
Bob was an avid golfer for most of his life and cherished the time with his golfing buddies. He was also a Troop 297 Boy Scout leader and was active with others from the neighborhood community whom all became and remained lifelong friends.
His health failed very late in life and was resident at the Autumn Leaves home for the past year.
Bob was a great example of a true Christian man, very honest and moral, good father, faithful husband, big Bears fan, and had a positive impact on many lives.
The visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg. Funeral Mass Friday at 10 AM at St. Hubert Church, 729 Grand Canyon Street, Hoffman Estates, IL. Interment will take place at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, IL. |
