COUNCIL #3182 - CHRISTOPHER COUNCIL REMEMBERS
PETER C MOODY

Peter Moody became a Knight of Columbus in 1948, the year our Council was founded (Pete was not a founding member of our Council but he joined shortly after the Council was established). Pete was a member of our Order for 70 years.

On November 4, 2018, Peter C. Moody, age 94, peacefully passed on to his next adventure surrounded by his family at Christiana Hospital.

Peter served his country in World War II in the Army Air Corp and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. He then proudly worked for Eastern Airlines for 41 years as the Cargo Manager at Philadelphia International Airport.

Peter and his wife, Eva, who predeceased him in 2010, founded and ran the Holy Rosary Bingo, as well as serving as head usher during Mass until retiring several years ago.

Peter is survived by his daughter, Christina A. Ranney, of Claymont, DE; his son, Peter A. Moody, of Carmel, IN; his son-in-law, Paul T. Ranney, Sr.; his grandchildren, Paul T. Ranney, Jr. and his wife, Erin, of Chesterfield, VA, Jessica A. Flynn and her husband, Wayne, of Willow Grove, PA; and five great-grandchildren, Gavin, Zoey, Kaitlyn, Michael and Timothy, who lit up his eyes whenever they visited. He couldn’t have been a prouder PopPop!

A Viewing was held Wednesday, November 21, 2018 beginning at 10am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Interment followed in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701, where Peter is re-united with his wife, Eva, who has been (not so patiently, we’re sure!) waiting for him to join her.
