MYRON HOMUTH

 

Myron Clarence Homuth, 78, of Owatonna, died Monday, May 14, 2018 at Owatonna Hospital.

He was born February 22, 1940 in Owatonna the son of Clarence and Dorothy (Fischer) Homuth. Myron graduated from Owatonna High School in 1957. He served in the US Army from 1958 - 1962 and then in the reserves until 1964. On May 23, 1970 Myron married Karen Kelly at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna. Myron farmed his entire life. He was proud to live on and farm the land where he was born which became a century farm in 1992.

Myron was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a 50 year member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his annual fishing trip to Lake of the Woods with his 2 sons. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling on one of the Eagle's bowling leagues. Myron's grandchildren were the light of his life!

He is survived by his wife, Karen Homuth of Owatonna; son, Barry (and Jackie) Homuth of Owatonna; daughter in law, Casey Homuth of Owatonna; grandchildren, Madison, Christopher, Kaden, Dylan; sister in law, Judy (and Jim) Osegera of Mason City, IA; sister in law, Anna Homuth of Lakeville and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jon Homuth; brother, Gary Homuth.
