COUNCIL #10930 - FATHER EMIL GERLICH OF FORT WORTH REMEMBERS
CHARLES R PARR

Charles R. Parr, 86, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018.
Born in Blue Springs, Ala. on June 17, 1932, Charles joined the U.S. Air Force at 17, spending the next 24 years as a proud member of SAC, rising to the rank of CMSGT. After traveling the world with his wife, Lanelle with his three children in tow, he settled in Fort Worth. He then spent the next 22 years working for the U.S. Postal Service rising to become a station manager. Though Charles enjoyed a long and fulfilling career, he received his greatest pleasure from being called "Papa." He was beyond proud of his four granddaughters, celebrating their accomplishments from singing, dancing, performing in plays and musicals and marching band to all graduating from college to marrying amazing men to becoming fantastic mothers giving him a whole new generation to love. After being very stubborn for a long, long time, Charles became a devoted Catholic in 1975. As is characteristic with everything he ever did, Charles became a Eucharistic Minister and active member of the Knights of Columbus rising to Faithful Navigator of Assembly 1089 Fourth Degree. Charles or Charlie will always be remembered for his gift of gab, his devotion to the church, and his love of his family. Charles was married to his Beloved wife of 65 years, Lanelle.

Charles will be greatly missed by all.
