News & Announcements

St. Martin’s Food Pantry

On the third Sunday of each month, between 9am and noon in the church parking lot, St. Patrick’s collects food for St Martin’s Food Pantry.  Our Council has been supporting St. Patrick’s collection program for the past several years.

Our support is still needed.  Please consider donating unexpired, sealed and non-perishable items.  Items in short supply are canned soup, dry soup/ramen, canned fruit, pasta sauce, “Meals-in-a-can” (canned pasta, chili, etc.), dry unsweetened cereal, and Similac Advanced (blue) Formula.  In addition to food items, disposable diapers numbers 2,3,4,5, and 6, adult diapers/Depends, personal hygiene products, and toilet paper are also needed.

Please join your brother Knights in continuing to support this worthy cause.  Many of us meet at the collection site at 9am to represent our Council.  If you have any questions, please contact Fred Whitman at 240-550-1007.

District Deputy Report July 2021

DISTRICT DEPUTY REPORT JULY 2021

Greetings to the newly elected Grand Knight and Officers!!

The start of a new Fraternal year is always exciting, and sometimes scary.  As the person in charge of the Council sometimes you will feel overwhelmed, and that you have to do everything.  That is not true!

You have Officers, and Program Directors who want to work with you to achieve a successful year.  Make sure your Program Directors understand their portion of the Faith in Action program, and encourage new ideas.  Your job as Grand Knight is to let them perform their duties and run the programs, and to provide needed assistance.  As a team the Council will achieve success.

Summer is not the time to relax, and because we were shut down for 2020, you must start strong.  Schedule membership drives as your Pastor allows, and be prepared to hold Exemplifications open to all family members.  Plan your fall activities now and let the Chairman start to publicize the events.  Continue to reach out to your membership to see how they are doing, and if they need assistance.  Keep the Food Drives alive, and be sure to cover the times when your members are on vacation.

Be sure to follow the new meeting guidelines, and to continue to broadcast to those who cannot come in person.  And as always make sure all the paperwork is complete and filed with correctly within the time limits!!

Ed Day and I look forward to working with you and your Council in the coming year, to assist in your success.

Vivat Jesus!

MARY, QUEEN OF THE KNIGHTS
(REV. ROBERT F. HOPKINS)

Our Lady, * Queen of the Knights, * bless all the activities
of our Order. * Keep us true to the pledge * to extend the
kingship of thy Divine Son on earth. * Through Thine
intercession, * win for us the grace * ever to exemplify in
our public and private lives, * the virtues which should
characterize * those specially dedicated * to the service of
the heavenly court. * Make us always aware * that as your
Knights * we are constantly observed, * our faith judged *
and our Order appreciated. * Accept, O Mary, * this
renewed pledge of fealty and devotion * of thy servants, *
the Knights of Columbus. *    Amen.
