Holy Ghost Council Mission Statement
The Holy Ghost Council #4977 of Palatine was chartered on May 25, 1960 by 68 worthy Catholic gentlemen. Today, we are part of the largest family fraternal organization of the Catholic Church and are committed to the exemplification of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, Patriotism and Defense of The Church. We promote social and intellectual fellowship among our members and their families.
Through the Order of the Knights of Columbus, our Holy Ghost Council is consecrated to The Blessed Virgin Mary and is unequivocal in its loyalty to our Pope, bishops and priests. We are firmly committed to the protection of human life from conception to natural death and the preservation and defense of the family.
We are also dedicated to helping Catholic families spiritually grow in their faith and defend their beliefs. Through volunteerism of time and talent, Brother Knights involve themselves in charitable and service programs to meet the needs of our two Palatine Parishes (St. Theresa and St. Thomas of Villanova), local charities and our civic community.
