Congrats from GK Don Middleton
Brothers,
Wow, what a Knight's Council we have!!! For the second year in a row, our Council, 6905, has taken one of the "only one of a kind" awards in the State. Of 151 councils, only one received this award and it was all of us who earned it. The award is for Community Service. We were recognized for our large community events such as Oktoberfest and St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Last year, we were awarded the State's only award for Family Efforts with our 40 Cans for Lent Program.
Additionally, our Council, 6905, was awarded a plaque for being one of the 25 best Councils in the State. In fact, our award placed us in the top 14% of the 151 Councils in the State.
We are also in line for the Columbian Award later this year for our efforts in all categories of service within the Knights of Columbus National expectations for top councils.
What a pleasure it was before the some 200 delegates at the States 114th Convention for Michael Cook, Jeff Luken, Tim O'Keefe, and I to accept these top awards on your behalf.
Your dues, your donations of time and effort, your leadership, your participation, your efforts to "do something" for Service to our Priests, our church and our community have resulted is State recognition for our efforts. As Grand Knight, I thank you, and personally, I thank each of you for your efforts.
Vivat Jesus,
Don Middleton, Grand Knight
