Welcome to St. Edward’s Knights of Columbus Council #6546. The Knights of Columbus was founded by a parish priest, Father Michael McGivney, in 1882 in New Haven Connecticut. Today, the Knights are the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Our council consists of your fellow Catholic men, who work hard to serve our parish and community. Please feel free to approach any Knight, and ask about our order. Knights are the gentleman who wear gold name badges at all our weekend liturgies.
We hold monthly business meetings the first Monday of every month at 7:00pm. Our meetings are preceded by a recitation of the rosary at 6:40pm. Please let me know if you have questions on how to join (see link below) or if you have questions on our service projects or charities.

“Jesus Cleanses the Temple”
This episode is recorded in all 4 gospels. We shouldn’t be surprised that Jesus came into the temple and made a ruckus. He was not just being a rabble rouser. He was rectifying the temple so as to rectify the people of Israel.
When pressed for a sign, Jesus said that he would tear the temple down and rebuild it in 3 days. He was talking, as John tells us, of the Temple of his body. He was saying that this old temple, which had served its purpose relatively well, would now give way to a new and definitive Temple. His own body, his won person, would be the place where divinity and humanity meet, and the place of right praise.
Many of the historical critics of the New Testament hold that this event, shocking, unprecedented, perverse; is what finally persuaded the leaders that Jesus merited execution.
Lent is a time of personal reform, a good time to pay attention to the anger that lurks in our hearts. We must find a way to express that anger in a way that leads to healing.
- Do you carry anger with you? 2) Why does anger clash with our image of Christ? 3) Can you appreciate a holy and hopeful anger?
In addition please remember that our December Social/Christmas Party is on Tuesday- December 12th. The Ladies Auxiliary will be providing decorations and we will have great food from O'Toole's. (Menu to follow). This is a great event to bring the family too- the more the merrier!
