RECYCLING: If/when you recycle for your home (whether at the Centralia Recycling Center or elsewhere), you can now help recycle bottles from the Columbian Club. Instead of throwing bottles away to be disposed of in a landfill, the Columbian Club is now collecting them in the back room (behind the white door in the NW corner of our meeting room, which is along the north wall behind the kitchen). ANYONE can help by grabbing boxes (or bags) of empty bottles (whatever you can take) and taking them to a recycling center the next time you take your own items. If more than a few of us volunteer to do this, it won't be overwhelming. (Herb already collects the aluminum cans for recycling.) If you work on a BINGO crew, please try to collect bottles and cans instead of throwing them away! PLEASE HELP OUT IF YOU CAN!
Columbian Club Queen of Hearts raffle was won on Feb. 16 2017 and again in March 2017, and then (over $30,000) was won on Jan. 11, 2018 by a group from Aviston Lumber. Then our own Past Grand Knight Bob Diekemper won half the pot on November 1, 2018. And then a winner drew the Queen of Hearts on May 9, 2019. The last winner was drawn in August 2020. The Queen of Hearts drawing had been halted temporarily. We will start our Queen of Hearts drawing back up on Thursday, October 1st! Drawing will be at 7:30 and the pot will start at $1,500! We can’t wait to see everyone again!!
If you are interested in joining our council or getting more involved in our council, please contact an officer or send a note to email@example.com We need inactive members to become active to share the load at fundraising events and/or to chair events that we otherwise may not participate in. if you don't feel you have been invited to volunteer, please consider this your invitation! Get to know your fellow knights by attending the monthly meeting for members, the SECOND Thursday of every month at 7:45pm at the Columbian Club (KC Hall) in Carlyle. Have a free beer with us after every meeting!
