May 2023

John Cuneo

For seven years now, John has volunteered for several events that we’ve hosted. Along with running our Vocations Program, John served as our Worthy Lecturer for three years and inspired us all with uplifting and thoughtful stories. After three years of inspiration, John decided to try his luck at running our Membership Program and boy did he ever perform! After just one fraternal year, our Council netted nine new brothers, exceeding our goal by 128% and placing our Council second overall in the State, beating out 68 other Councils. These new members have since gone on to volunteer and even run some of our Programs which highlights the quality of candidate that John seeked. Thank you John for all your hard work and Congratulations on a much deserved award!!

January 2023

Brian Withka

Brian just recently joined our Council in November. After the ceremony that evening, we held a Business Meeting where Brian heard me ask for volunteers in running areas of the Council where we were lacking. He heard me mention that our website was getting stale and could really use a spruce up. With a background in IT, he reached out offered to help refresh the stories and run the website. He came up with fresh and innovative ideas on how to store and rotate content and make the site appealing again. When I mentioned to him how I’d like to find a way to reach members over text instead of just email, Brian scoured the net and found us the tool, SimpleTexting that we use today. Thank you Brian for your self drive and becoming such an integral part of this Council so quickly. Congratulations on a much deserved award!!

November 2022

James Molloy

Jim joined the Knights of Columbus 38 years ago. As some who have been in for so long will step back and let the younger generation thrive, brother Jim has remained very active and engaged. After successful back to back Golf Tournaments, brother Jim decided to co-chair next year’s tournament and has already met with the new venue and started working out the details. At our recent Veterans Dinner, he was everywhere, from arranging the Jr ROTC program to perform the flag folding ceremony to helping in the kitchen with prep, serve and cleaning up. H+is time and efforts are invaluable to this Council and the organization.
Thank you Jim and Congratulations on a much deserved award!!

September 2022

William Mahoney

With Covid restrictions in the rear view, our 20th annual Golf Tournament was expected to be our best tournament yet. However, as we quickly learned, with so many tournaments taking place, it was going to be a challenge to meet last year’s totals, never mind top it. Together with a great team, Brother Bill took the helm and worked feverishly, day and night, reaching out to players, sponsors and vendors. With less than 2 weeks to go, Brother Bill and the team made a final push to get the player count over the minimum to play shotgun. The results ended up being record breaking and setting our sights even higher for next year.
Thank you Bill and Congratulations on a much deserved award!!

June 2022

Christopher Cronin

For over 25 years, Chris has defined the character of a Knight by always being there. From volunteering at dinners, golf tournaments, the Persons with Intellectual Disabilities drive or building out pet projects, Brother Chris has lent his talents in so many different ways. Most recently, the Council received approval to build a handicap ramp for parishioner and community member, Doris Enos. With planning and materials acquired by Brother Paul McKallagat, we needed Chris’ knowledge and expertise in construction to design a ramp that was safe, secure, up to building codes and one that’ll stand the test of New England winters. Sacrificing his spare time and with the help of several Brothers, Chris designed and built a ramp that is both beautiful and well made. Thank you Chris and Congratulations on a much deserved award!!

February 2022

Phil Santoro

One year ago, Brother Phil joined our Council but with limited mobility, he was unable to help with activities that required physical strength and movement. However, this has not limited his presence at all. Phil has adopted the role of our official “Point of Contact for Events”. For the last two dinners (Veterans and Valentines), Phil has been the point of contact for folks to call in and reserve their spot. However, Brother Phil doesn’t simply take down their name and number, he takes time to get to know each individual that calls in, so much so, that guests constantly ask about him. Thank you Phil for continuing to provide a warm and personal experience for our welcome guests. Congratulations on a much deserved award!!

December 2021

Tom Fahey

For several years, Brother Tom has been an exemplary Knight and well worth imitating. As a Past Grand Knight, he led and helped shape this Council to what it is today. As Treasurer, his attention to detail keeps our funds properly balanced. You’d think he’d take a break, but instead, he worked tirelessly to resurrect and put on a highly successful Veterans Dinner that people still talk about today. We owe Brother Tom a debt of gratitude on a much deserved award. Congratulations!!

March 2021

Dan Beaule

The Knight of the Quarter is Brother Dan Beaule. He has consistently demonstrated Council loyalty month after month by ensuring our abilities to operate a modern Council with full usage of technology hardware, software, telecom, social media and critical web mastering. During the Covid-19 period, his knowledge and many hours behind the scenes has afforded us the ability to never lose stride and continue our goals of charity and almsgiving. Congratulations Dan!

July 2019

George Gedraitis

Brother George recently held a social event at his home to thank Borothers for the past year of support. After losing his wife, George became involved with our Council as a way to help with his grieving. He felt so much support from Brothers in the Council, it helped make this difficult process a little easier. His willingness to bring us together and thank us exemplifies his unity and fraternity. We are lucky to have him in our Council.

June 2019

Paul Fitzgerald

Paul has been a steady contributor since becoming a Knight and joining our council. He continues to volunteer where needed on a regular basis. Paul brings a fresh outlook on the operation of the council and doesn’t hesitate to make recommendations when he sees an opportunity to streamline or improve. Paul is now looking forward to his upcoming 4th Degree Exemplification. Thank you for a job well done.

May 2019

Bobby DiMattia

Since coming to the Council less than a year ago, Brother Bobby has taken on the act of charity and giving with a full head of steam. Most recently, Brother Bobby has led the Golf Tournament to new heights by securing greater sponsorships which will give our tournament higher recognition and greater value. Additionally, he has improved on the raffle prizes given out to the golfers to be silent auctions of the professional sports teams in the area. This will bring on a higher interest by golfers to play, increasing our charitable givings. In the end, what Brother Bobby has accomplished in such a short time will ensure long lasting success for our Council as a whole. Congratulations on such as wonderful job.

February 2019

Nick Maselli

As one of the founding members and the current Financial Secretary, Brother Nick's responsibilities and respect are far reaching. Whether it be managing the council's finances, managing membership dues, cooking in the kitchen or just listening and providing sought after advice to the many who request it, Brother Nick has always been there for the Council. Thank you sir for all of your hard work. You are a loved and valued member of our family.

Jim is always available to his fellow Knights to help with food preparation for the various dinners hosted by the council. Thank you for a job well done.

December 2018

Dan Beaule

Dan is currently serving as our Deputy Grand Knight and has admirable assisted the Grand Knight. As Chairman of the committee for our First ‘Veterans Appreciation Dinner’, the event was a resounding success. A worthy event that was enjoyed by all who attended.

Dan has been a valuable asset to the council and particularly the Grand Knight. He has stepped in when needed without hesitation. He has embraced the planning process of the council with contributions in our planning activities. His work on the Social Media Committee has been particularly noteworthy. We are extremely proud of our website both in content and timeliness thanks to Dan’s efforts.

Aside from these duties, Dan has been instrumental in coordinating the setup, service and cleanup of our monthly dinners. He has helped make the process more efficient, overseeing these areas and helping our brothers feel like they have made a positive contribution to the process.

Thank you Dan for a well-deserved selection as Knight of the Month.

November 2018

Joe Passanise

For his outstanding work in both the Campaign for People with Intellectual Disablities and the Council Recruitment Drive, Brother Joe was awarded Knight of the month for the second time this year (Joe was previously recognized in March for his work on the Knights of Columbus sign in from of Saint Anne's along with continued support in other activities such as the Monthly Dinners.)

During the Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities, Brother Joe assisted Chairman Lance in running a streamlined and effective event where over 35 Brothers and several thousand dollars was collected for charity. You could see Joe running around, ensuring Knights had the right supplies and putting out fires wherever he was needed. Without Joe's organizational skills, the Drive wouldn't have been as successful.

In the month of October, our Council held it's annual Membership Recruitment Drive. In order to ensure Council longevity, we pursued a goal of recruiting younger members. To accomplish this, we knew we needed someone young, vibrant, humorous and impassioned in the love of Christ to speak to the Parish. There was only one person who came to mind - Brother Joe Passanise. He certainly didn't disappoint. His speech was right on point and attracted new members to join our Order. It's like they say - "the right man for the job". That's Brother Joe.

October 2018

Lance Ribeiro

Recently, our Council hosted it's annual Tootsie Roll Drive. Spread out over 3 days and several locations, over 30 Knights came out to help collect money for charity. Brother Lance started preparing for this event several months ago, having to get agreements from stores, order the tootsie rolls and supplies, call and schedule volunteers and provide ongoing support as the drive took place. Together with Brothers Joe Passanisse and Tom Battaglia, the Tootsie Roll Drive was a rousing success raising thousands of dollars. Thank you to all the brothers that helped and a very special thanks to Lance for running such a smooth event.

September 2018

Joe Tabbi

Joe has been a very active member of our Council. His experience in the food industry has been instrumental at our dinners. Additionally, he has taken on the take-out portion of our monthly dinners and created a smooth flowing operation. We are thankful to have Joe as a member of the Council and look forward to working with him in the future. Thank you Joe for a job well done.

August 2018

John Faro

July 2018

He's been a welcome addition and we hope he remains in an active role of St. Maximilian Kolbe Council for a long time to come. Congratulations Richard!

June 2018

John Cuneo

One of the most important jobs during a business meeting is the role of the Recorder. It is his sole responsibility to capture the conversations and the data precisely and accurately. Some Recorders choose to use electronic recording devices to accurately capture the information, Brother John did it using the highly skilled art of shurthand. With a keen ear and a quick write, Brother John captured every nuance of the meetings during the past year. The Grand Knight thanked Brother John for a job well done to a rousing applause from those in attendance.

May 2018

Chuck Mack

As the Council's Membership Director, Brother Chuck has worked tirelessly to bring on new members and encourage degree advancement with existing members. Just this year alone, Chuck has brought on 6 new members with a seventh going through his first degree soon, making our council one of the leaders in the State for new memberships. For all of his continued efforts to make the St. Maximilian Kolbe council the best it could be, the Grand Knight awarded Brother Chuck with the Knight of the Month award for May 2018. A rousing applause was given at this past Business Meeting.

April 2018

Tom Di Benedetto

Since Brother Tom joined our council just a short time ago, he was quick to jump into volunteering to help at our council events. When the council's most popular event of the year came up, Tom, who has cooking experience, jumped onboard to lead the kitchen. Once the day was here and the kitchen was buzzing, you could tell that his experience was far greater than a backyard BBQ cookout. His preparedness, take charge attitude and cooking techniques gave everyone who attended a scrumptous and mouth watering meal that will be talked about for a long time to come. Thank you Brother Tom for a very successful event and we look forward to having you in our council for many years.

March 2018

Joe Passanise

Joe is an active member in the council and currently serves as our Lecturer. He is involved in our Social Media Committee providing informative and educational material. At our monthly dinners, Joe provides entertainment with music appropriate for the meal being presented. As for work details, Joe has refrubushed our council sign that has deteriorated over the years and is ready for reposting once the harsh weather gives way to softer ground. If there is ever a need for help, he is the first to volunteer,. Joe's heart for the Knights of Columbus is alway at the forefront. Thank you Joe.

December 2017

Dan Beaule

Dan is currently serving as our Deputy Grand Knight and has been instrumental in the success of our council. As the Chairman of our Social Media committee, he has managed to improve our online presence by moving to a more user friendly platform. This move along with keeping the site current and fresh sheds a better light on our council and our work. Next up is the managing of a Facebook page to bring more current information to our members and our community. Thank you Dan for your untiring effort to make our council better.

November 2017

John Cussen

John has been our Treasurer for a number of years and impeccably maintains our financial accounts. During a recent temporary absence of our Financial Secretary, John was able to fill the gap with no adverse affects to the council's activities. Additionally, as coordinator of the ongoing Red Cross Blood Drives, his efforts help them to reach and exceed their goal of units collected at almost every event. Thank you John for your contributions to our council.

October 2017
