Ed & Shirley Benedix
Listing Ed and Shirley’s accomplishments and contributions would take far too long, including being a past Grand Knight and Financial Secretary along with all of their involvement at POP, and I know I would omit many. So let’s just take a look at the last fraternal year.
Ed led the retention committee with great success in getting many members current and generally cleaning up our roster. I was particularly impressed with his ability to return members long absent to an active status with the Council. Ed also formed up and is captain of our exemplification team, permitting us to have several successful exemplifications here at POP.
Ed & Shirley are very active in ministry at POP including being Lay Funeral Directors. That means they completely manage a funeral at POP from being sacristan, to working with the grieving family and managing the funeral home directors. Shirley has switched her focus from the art and environment inside the church to beautifying the outside gardens surrounding the church. She makes sure that the outdoor shrines around POP are clean, beautiful and ready for us to pray in.
