Stu and Jan McFadden

Stu and Jan McFadden exemplify service and dedication to their church and community. Their notable activities include a very deep and sincere commitment and involvement with the Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos (NPH) El Salvador. They recently led a drive to collect $10,000 for shoes for approximately 275 orphan children.

Their very deep and sincere involvement with the NPH El Salvador results in annual visits into the country to see the children and work on local projects.
They have made three visits to date.

They have developed a program which they present to any interested groups.
The program is “Giving your Heart and Support to the Kids of NPH”.

Their involvement in the parish and council functions include the annual passing of the Silver Rose, the procurement and sale of Christmas wreaths, organizing and conducting the Day of Reflection.

They serve as active members on the Friendship Kitchen Team making food deliveries to homebound individuals and families. Also, they serve as money counters for the collections from each mass.

As a talented and skilled woodworker, Stu has constructed numerous articles for the parish; they include wall stands for the Holy Mother and St. Joseph statues in the church; a wall display case for pictures of active duty military veterans; picnic tables, and reconstruction of a wasted basement storage area by building bins and shelving to make the space more functional.

This couple is more than worthy to be selected as the 2016 Council Family of the Year.
