Our family of the month is from another knight who does so much behind the scenes. During the “Burger Burn” Fundraiser for Catholic Charities, he counseled the grand knight on what was needed to support the event, then he and his family helped set up, prepare and clean up after the event.

You have, no doubt, seen Keith and Lori this year. They have been heavily involved in many events, including the Lenten Fish Frys, breakfast with Santa, Ladies Tea, and many others. He is a fixture in the kitchen, cooking meals at many breakfast and dinner events. She is very active in the Ladies Auxiliary. Their contributions have made many of our events, hugely successful.

Kevin and Jennifer Petitte

Kevin and his entire family have been heavily involved in making our Lenten Fish Fry events a huge success. Using his amazing kitchen skills, Kevin revamped menu and attention to detail have drawn people back to a fish fry event that had been waning in recent years. Jennifer has led the Ladies Auxiliary for several years and has shown amazing support for the council. Their contributions have made not only the fish frys, but many other events, hugely successful.

Terry and Margie Smith

Terry and Margie have been an active part of many council social events. Of note this month, this knight and his wife made major contributions to the setup and teardown duties for the Mardi Gras celebration, including the assembly and disassembly of the dance floor. Additionally, though they had a conflicting event on night of the celebration, they made a special effort to stop by and join the end of the party.

Steve Thomas and his wife, Susan, opened up their home for a gathering of Knights
and their wives. This impromptu event turned out to be an excellent evening of fun
and social interaction; with more than two dozen knights and their spouses attending

This Knight and his wife do so much for this council and for the parish itself. This month,
however, they went above and beyond even their level of excellence. With the passing of Brother Byron Nestler, they helped organize the viewing, funeral and reception and ensure that this solemn event took place with the greatest respect and reverence for Byron, Sandy, and their family.

I’m sure you all have looked around the grounds at St. Francis of Assisi Church and noticed how nicely they are kept up. What you may not have wondered is how they get this way. It is not magic, and it is not professionally done. This knight and his family actively engage to maintain and improve the outside plants and garden areas around the church. They are out almost every weekend working to plant new flowers and plants, and to maintain the bedding.

This family was responsible for organizing, setting up and running the SFA 4th / 5th Grade Halloween Party on Oct 24th. Holly was the primary organizer for this hectic event. Her husband Kenny helped set up and tear down for the event as well as support the event itself
