The Hess Family

It would really be “the exception” if you ever came to Mass or participated in any church event without seeing at least one member of our family of the month. This family is active both in the ministries of our parish as well as several councils and organizations. The family’s matriarch has been a lector for many years both at daily Mass as well as at weekend Masses. She has also been head of our parish pro-life committee as well as the parish Vocation committee. Her husband serves as head of the Finance committee and is also a member of the Pastoral council. In addition, he is also a member of our Knights of Columbus Council here at Saint Anne. Finally, their three wonderful children are always seen around the parish participating in one fashion or another, when not in college. Both sons have been long time altar servers at both the daily and weekend Masses. I know I am most likely missing other ways this family models Christian family values, and as I said, it would be very unusual for you to attend any Mass or function as Saint Anne without seeing at least one smiling member of this family. That being said, it is with great pleasure I present our council’s Family of the Month award to the Hess family!

June 2022

Paul Comeau and family

This family is active not only in the ministries of our parish, but also in the day-to-day activities that all of us have seen and benefit from, and to be honest, may take for granted. Paul, in addition to being a Eucharistic minister, is the head of our parish’s Grounds and Maintenance department, but nearly every week gives over and above the hours he was hired for, whether it be on the parish grounds or at home. For example, when the decision was made to place the missalettes in the pews instead of handing them out at the door, the hymnal racks in each of the pews throughout the church was designed and crafted by Paul, at his own expense, saving the parish significant funds. Paul’s wife, Lorraine, is often on deck with setting up and tearing down any function long before anyone arrives, and long after they have all gone home. Paul and Lorraine’s daughter, Caroline, annually helps organize and provide a free flu clinic and more recently a flu and Covid vaccine clinic through the food pantry. Caroline also serves as one of the weekend Sacristans. Finally, there is a grandson, Christian, in the mix here! Christian has taken up the mantel with Paul often spending the hours of a delayed opening or a day off from school assisting and working at the church. The whole Comeau family continually go above and beyond in serving the community of Saint Anne which they call home, and it is my pleasure to present the Comeau family with our council’s Family of the Month award!

December 2021

The Vaillancourt Family

The Vaillancourt Family is very active in our church’s ministries as well as the overall Hampstead community. Jim and Gretchen run the altar server program and provide the training and scheduling of all the altar servers. Their children, Noah and Leah, are also very active in this ministry and you will often see them serving at the 9:30 Mass. Gretchen dedicates a lot of time to the food pantry in the tracking of inventory, sorting donations and keeping the community aware of the food pantry’s needs. Thanks to the Vaillancourt Family for all you do at Saint Anne’s!

September 2021

The Chabot Family

This family is active in several of our ministries including Lecturing, assisting with Baptisms with Deacon Bill, volunteering at the Knight’s Blood Drive and working many of the Knight’s activities. This family also has an active member of the Knight’s of Columbus where he has held several officer positions, and is always “the guy that is willing to help out”, whether it be ushering, setting up or tearing down the creche’, or whatever it takes to help make an event or activity successful. This Knight can always be depended upon to help out regardless of the activity. You all have seen this family pretty much whenever you attend Mass or any other church activity. With that being said, it is my pleasure to present our council’s Family of the Month award to the Eileen and Bob Chabot family!

March 2021

The Heron family

The family of the quarter is the “Heron Family”. Brother Chris’ family is very involved in the Church including the Youth and Music ministries. Most recently, they offered up their time and sung at our first exemplification ceremony. Congratulations!

September 2020

The Pothier Family

The Family Director awarded The Pothier Family as “Family of the Month”. This award came as a result of the great outpouring of support by Dick, his wife and three daughters who showed up to the Golf Tournament to volunteer and really dug in. It was a tremendous help and we appreciate their support. We will present Dick with a nice certificate from our Council.
The Family Director, John Keisling also expressed his early plans for this years coat drive. Given the COVID situation it may play out a little different but plans are being put in place for the October timeframe.

September 2019

Jerry Dowd and Family

Brother Jerry was awarded the Family of the Month. While you won't usually see him at a meeting, his presence is always around, from coming to the dinners, helping out with events or sponsoring a hole in the Golf Tournament. Thank you brother for always being there for our Council. Congratulations!

July 2019

Tom Fahey and Family

The family has been active and engaged in the success of our Council. Tom’s son Patrick has been seen over the years helping and volunteering in a variety of ways, to support his father and the entire Council. His daughter Pam provided us with a very high level of graphic design for many aspects of our events. She serves as an inspiration to keep up that level of professional appearance to all our graphic design needs. This family spent an untold amount of their own funds on countless printable works and supplies. As always, Tom’s wife Charleen supported our Grand Knight during his two year term. Also worth mentioning to the Council, the system Tom build for future Grand Knights. During our transition, Tom provided the new GK with two USB drives containing all the many important Council documents as well as a file box and Grand Knight meeting book to help all future Grand Knights to seamlessly transition but more importantly stay organized. Our Council owes Tom a debt of gratitude for his innovation and hard work. We thank the entire Fahey family for their involvement.

June 2019

Tom Battaglia Family

Tom and his wife have been active in the St. Anne's community for a very long time. You can usually find Tom at the 9:30 Sunday Mass as an usher helping to greet parishioners and take up the weekly collection.

The Battaglias also participate in several other ministries such as the St Anne's Food Pantry as well as the weekly Fellowship after mass on Sunday. They have been a part of the parish always participating in parish functions both as a Brother Knight and a parishioner.

Congratulations to the Battaglias.

May 2019

Bob Sirois and Family

Brother Bob's charitable heart has been seen since joining the Council less than a year ago. His "help wherever I can" attitude can be witnessed during our monthly dinners and charitable events. At the business meetings, his advice or questions help others seeking the same answers. If that wasn't enough, Brother Bob is also a Eucharistic minister and can be seen helping during Communion. Thank you Brother for everything that you do for our Council and the Parish.

April 2019

Steve Rizzo and Family

Everyone at the 11 am Mass seems to know Brother Steve, either through his kind gestures, words or prayers while serving as an usher and greeter. He has the amazing gift of recalling everyone's names and what's happening in their families.

As a Knight, Brother Steve can be seen helping at the dinners and other charitable events. With all of this, he'll still find time to attend a meeting and catch up on what's happening in the Council.

Brother Steve's wife, Barbara, is also very active in the Parish volunteering her time for various Parish events throughout the year. Together they make a loving couple that spreads joy and smiles to everyone they meet.

Congratulations Steve and Barbara for a well deserved award.

January 2019

Chris Herron and Family

Chris and his children are very active in the Church choir, as well as the Programs for Children held on Sunday evenings for K-12 students. The family spends time chaperoning for these activities as well. The best part is that Brother Chris is a recent addition to our council and we are proud to call him our brother.

December 2018

John Faro and Family

John and his wife Beverly are very active in our parish. Beverly can always be seen around the church whether it be helping out during fellowship, serving as a Eucharistic minister, and more recently, helping plan the parish's amazing Cabaret. John has been a member of our council for many years and has held many positions, including Grand Knight, and is our current Chancellor. Like his wife, John is always helping out in many of our church and council events and is very active in Veteran's organizations as well. Congratulations to John and Bev on being recognized as our Family of the Month!.

Next time you see Joan, make sure to congratulate her on a well deserved award!

October 2018

Mike Korpak and Family

As our former Family Director, Brother Mike provided recognition and support for the families of our fellow Knights. Keeping this in mind, each month he carefully selected and presented an award to a Knight and his family who exemplified excellence.

Mike recently sold his home and decided to relocate to North Carolina. We thank him for all the contributions and sacrifices he made for the good of the Council. God Bless and Farewell.

Christina is an usher at the Sunday 9:30 Masses and her daughter is an altar server. Chris is active in the Parish and sits on the Pastoral Council. Chris's daughter Grace is always at the Masses also. As I have said many times before without a supportive family, her work would not be possible.

Joe Passanise & Family

Joe is an active member of our council as well as our parish. He has been involved in most of the activities of our council by lending a helping hand, providing entertainment at our dinners and refurbishment of our council sign. His wife Maria is always ready to help quietly remaining in the background. Without a loving and supportive wife, his service would not be possible

Thank you for being an example to our parish families.

June 2018

Peter Hess & Family

As a Knight in our Council and an active member of Saint Anne's Parish, Peter has been instrumental in the success of the Council and Church. When he's not helping serve meals during our monthly dinners, he's busy ushering during Sunday Mass.

With his wife, Cheryl lecturing at Mass and one of their children as an Alter Server, this family is truly servants of God.

Thank you very much for your many years of service. You have blessed this Church and community with something special.

May 2018

Jean Morin & Family

Our Family Activity Director, Mike Korpak, has awarded Brother Jean Morin with Family of the Month for May 2018. As a long standing council member and construction contractor, Brother Jean has put his building skills to use time and time again with projects such as building wheelchair ramps for our disabled community. In addition to helping out at council dinners when needed, you can usually find Brother Jean at Sunday Mass helping greet our Parish community. Thank you Brother Jean for all that you do.

April 2018

The Leary Family

Bill and his wife have been active parishoners for a long time and have always been there to help the community. Brother Bill has volunteered at several dinners, council activities and church sponsored events. As Bill heads south to North Carolina to be closer to family, it should be known that his kind soul and warm smile will be sorely missed in this council and community. We wish you the very best and want you to know that you'll always have a place here in St. Maximilian Kolbe Council #9058.

His wife is also active in our parish as a Minister at Mass sometimes in more than one roll.
