Dale Family

Kenny and Robin are involved in numerous activities/ministries in and around St. Joan of Arc Parish. Kenny is the first one who steps up to help a brother in need by giving transporting them to an appointment or working on a home self-help project. He was a key in leading a joint fund-raiser with the Youth & Knight pancake breakfast. In addition to collecting over $729 for youth and knight good works he mentored the parish youth with key life-skills. He also assists the Minister of Hospitality by assisting with collections and passing out bulletins. Kenny volunteered for and was appointed to the role of council Financial Secretary ensuring the financial health of our council and oversaw an error free audit. Robin is extremely active in her own right. She is a member of the the Legion of Mary where she leads visits to local homes and prays with homebound Catholics who would otherwise not have the opportunity to exercise their faith. Robin is a member of the parish stitcher's and joyfully brings others who need transportation. Regularly she helps prepare a meal for the parish youth group's Emmaus dinner. As a member of the parish Lazarus ministry she ensures light refreshments are set up for the family to quietly talk and joyfully remember their deceased loved one. The Dale's are a dynamic couple who faithfully live out their catholicity to enrich the lives of others and are Yorktown's Family of the Month!

Payton Family

Dave and Carol enthusiastically support the St Joan of Arc Parish community and
Knights of Columbus activities. Although only officially joining the Order 3 months ago
Dave has been lending his time and talents to Knight events through his entire RCIA
journey. His abilities as a handyman have benefited our local foodbank as he found
abandoned perishables and has collected over 200lbs in donations. Most recently Dave lived out our first principle of Charity when a single parent parishioner purchased a piano for their child but had no means to move it. He gathered the details of the task, put a team of knights together and made the delivery without a hitch. You will regularly see Carol and Dave at the early Sunday Mass where he participates by collecting the gifts and butlering during Holy Communion. Carol has been with the Ladies Auxiliary for years and currently is serving as Vice President of the group. She and her team organized refreshments for our Music Minister's Patriotic Recital catering the event for 140 attendees. The teamwork of the Payton's was in the forefront during our fundraising and fraternal benefits dinner where they set-up the hall, decorated it festively, and prepared a delicious entree earning over $600 for our community outreach programs. These corporal works are just a sampling of the impact Dave and Carl have made in the Yorktown community, St Joan of Arc and why they are our Family of the Month!

John lends his time to personally assist our Priest, who is blind, driving him to the airport and various locations in and around the community and state. The Bryant's attend daily and Sunday Mass together, where John is a welcomer, reader, and Eucharistic minister. John heads up the Parish Bereavement Ministry, skillfully coordinating with the family, funeral home and about 8-12 parishioners who ensure the each family's comfort and desires are paramount while grieving. Mary Anna is also active in the same ministry attending to the guest book, directing well wishers, and ensuring light refreshments are set up for the family to quietly talk and joyfully remember their loved one. Whenever there is a Knight's event you are sure to find John and Mary Anna, most recently at our Taco Knight & Benefits Dinner by cooking, setting up, and decorating where the council garnered over $650.00 to support parish and Knight good works. Without a doubt this couple is deserving of this recognition.

Krieschen Family

Paul Krieschen and wife Carol are our Yorktown Council's Family of the Month for July 2018. Although not a Knight, Paul demonstrates Father McGivney's vision of "changing a life" by being active in the St. Joan of Arc Parish in Yorktown while assisting at Mass with collection of the gifts and butlering during Holy Communion. Whatever activity requires laity Paul is present, as an RCIA sponsor or cooking the welcome breakfasts for the monthly Iron Men Group who challenges men to embrace their role as their family's spiritual leader. Paul "changed lives" when he traveled to Quito, Ecuador as part of a parish team and being the "hands of Christ" to 80 children and their families with his fellowship and in bringing 100 pairs of shoes and suitcases with much needed clothing. Carol is equally engaged in parish life as an RCIA sponsor and helping with various receptions and retreats. We salute the Krieschen Family for their dedication to Faith, Family, and Community.
