O'Donnell Family

The O'Donnell family has been chosen from our Council 14008 for the Month of September by an extraordinary "Yes" from the group. This family has continued to show their full practice of Catholic faith within the community for the many years especially during the time of the pandemic. Thomas and Darlene have shown full support to their parish of St. Monica's and the school as well in which their daughter, Briana has attended.

Whenever there is a special Holy Occasion during the year like Easter and Christmas, you will expect the O'Donnell's to be there and help with decorating, participate in the mass, and do many other duties that above and beyond. Including they hosted a pilgrimage trip within the Chicago area for a day for parishioners to experience a basilica and time of reflection/prayer. And besides being part of the parish community activities, they are also part of the PPC Council for the past few years and work with many of the members in that time to develop ideas for the parish through the year.

This family shows every kind of support to a parish and St. Monica's is very honored and adored to have them. If you ever need help with the parish events or during the holy seasons, you will see the O'Donnell's present and ready to help! They give the talk, but they walk the walk with others alongside!

Hilger Family

The Hilgers model the epitome of what a Catholic family should be. When you see one Hilger, you better believe the others are close by. They are inseparable.

The family's devotion to their Catholic faith is evident in the fact that they attend weekly Mass together as a family at their Parish, St. Monica; as well as Rosaries, Adoration, and any event which provides them an opportunity to celebrate their Catholic faith with other Catholics, Christians, and their community.

Bob, Susan, and all of their children have always been actively involved with the church. They are Eucharistic Ministers, lecturers, altar servers, ushers, and Scouts. Bob and Susan mentor and assist young people enrolled in the ID program, STARS; and help with the St. Vincent De Paul food program. Both Susan and daughter, Jennifer are on the Parish Council at St. Monica Parish.

It is unequivocally apparent that Faith in Christ, Service to the Catholic Church, and putting their Faith in action are the cornerstones upon which the Hilgers have aligned their family values and modeled for their church community. They don't just talk the talk. They walk the walk!
