Dear clients and neighbors,
Hereby a quick update about the SPRING season combined with some actual observations:
Weeds: Without humidity (rain, irrigation, …) the weeds do not germ. With the last rains and the warmer weather, the weeds are now visible. They are still small but should be taken care off in the next 2 - 4 weeks, before they start to cover the ground, which will take much more effort (physical) and product (chemical). Some people have already received a letter from their HOA with the demand to take care of these weeds.
-> Reminder: I only use ecological, efficient, and nontoxic products they do not go into the drinking water.
Trimming: I trim your fruit trees in a professional way. I trim your shrubs with my powerful cordless trimmer, which saves me a lot of time (and you $).
-> Proposition: I can teach you the principles of trimming and you’ll be able to do it yourself after 1 - 2 hour of practical instruction.
Irrigation: In the first half of March, the irrigation should be (re)adapted to the warmer weather conditions, because the water need will be 3 - 4x higher in March than during winter (In summer, about 8 x higher). I can adjust your irrigation controller and droplets if needed.
-> Reminder: I frequently observe that trees and shrubs are overwatered. You not only pay too high of a water bill, but the overwatering also washes out the oligo-elements in the soil.
Fertilizing: Citrus trees should be fertilized 3 times a year {1/3 in Jan-Feb, 1/3 in Mar-Apr and the last 1/3 in May-Jun (oranges, tangerines, grapefruit) or Aug-Sep (lemons, lime)}. The proper amount of the fertilizer depends on the type of fertilizer and the size of the tree. A soil analysis every 2-3 years helps to give the right amount.

Misc: - I plant your fruit trees or shrubs in a professional way, including the droplet irrigation.
